Viva Pink, or the Finch-Richmond Hill-Unionville line, is a bus rapid transit line in York Region, north of Toronto, Canada.
There are eighteen stations on the Viva Pink line, plus one proposed (from south-west to north-east):
Service began on 2 January 2006, and the entire line offers service during peak times only.
In the future, the Viva Pink line will soon be replaced by a subway line on the portion of the route from Richmond Hill Centre to Finch Station, as part of the Toronto Transit Commission's Yonge subway extension, and by Viva Purple along the Highway 7 portion of the route, enabling VIVA buses to quickly pass through traffic. Eventually, the entire transitway portion of the route will be upgraded to allow light rail transit on this corridor.
Originally, a transitway was to be implemented from Richmond Hill Centre to Finch Station, but after the announcement of MoveOntario 2020 by the Ontario provincial government, proposals of this transitway have been shelved and replaced with proposals of a subway extension on Yonge Street north.
As of September 3, 2006:
Viva Pink only operates on peak periods. These results will vary depending on the traffic volume and weather.
